Blood Moon, a poem

Reflection and cherished memory of the beguiling lunar spectacle

Moon, Earth and Sun

amalgamate

in a frame of grey-green

Eucalyptus leaves after spiraling

through the vacuous zero of space.

Bricks HECHO EN MX

stacked and stuccoed

fifteen feet beneath us

as our timid profiles shift closer

together filling the zone between

until flannel and crochet comfort each other.

We imagined the terror

on the face to first witness

this apocalyptic eclipse

as craters leaked lithium red

like popped vessels taking to a sponge.
