"Brokinis" are Hoping to Make Waves at the Beach This Summer

"More than 100 years have passed without any advancement in men's bathing suits."

A new men's swimwear line is on the market, and they aren't finding success — yet.

The Brokinis company has created and revealed what it considers to be the male version of the bikini, claiming the suits "may cause wanted attention."

The "Brokini" was thought up by owners Chad Sasko and Taylor Field in Toronto and, as you can see in the photos, it's a one-strap/over the shoulder bathing suit designed for guys, but honestly, anyone can make the beachwear work.

At the moment, they come in two styles: The Fineapple and The Bromingo.

So how'd these two come up with the idea? Here's the backstory:

"We (the founders) excelled in high school and found classes to be a joke. We therefore didn’t develop any work or study ethic and spent most of our time playing hacky sack and sword fighting with meter sticks. We somehow made it into business school and were both perfectly mediocre and that is why we are stuck running a business that has thus far made -$5,326.87."

You read that correctly. They're more than $5,000 in the hole because they unknowingly ordered more Brokinis than they thought they needed.

Currently, the suits are selling on the Brokinis website for $45. The owners plan to start reaching out to the department stores for distribution.

"We hope to one day grow Brokinis enough to cover our MASSIVE cryptocurrency losses and hire a golden retriever as a receptionist, but we have no idea how to run a business so that seems pretty unlikely at this point. We like dogs and strawberry daiquiris and the Toronto Maple Leafs."

Quite frankly, I hope they make it big. I can see myself strutting around the beach in one of these things — mainly because they're not like anything I've ever seen.

However, they do have a bit of a Borat-esque feeling to them.

If you're interested in putting a small dent into their -$5,326.87 deficit, or simply want to look extraordinarily wonderful at the beach this summer — and for several summers and warms seasons to come — head over to brokinis.com.
