Celebrating Star Wars Day (May the Fourth)

May the Fourth be with you, young Padawan

Star Wars Day (AKA May the Fourth) is the annual celebration of George Lucas’ Star Wars films, and it shows no sign of slowing down despite the very first movie coming out nearly four decades ago. Every year on May 4th, die-hards speak like Wookies, wear robes like they're Jedis, and scramble up their sentences to sound like Yoda.

I think the holiday is well-deserved, especially since George Lucas and the other contributors to the franchise have created several movies and television series in recent decades, including last year's Mandalorian.

The holiday has even spawned a pun: "May the Fourth be with you", resembling the common phrase found in every movie, "May the force be with you."

Now, with the current global lockdown, it's going to be hard to have a lightsaber duel with random strangers in the mall, but luckily the internet has you covered.

Disney+ is streaming just about every Star Wars film, StarWars.com has some pretty awesome deals, and I (a Star Wars fan since I was a young Padawan) have created a quiz to freshen your memory.

"Do or do not. There is no try." - Yoda
