"So he kind of goes all in, and I've never known anyone that committed."
Shia LaBeouf has been known to take his acting very seriously. It's something I've always loved about him and his "Do it" GIF often reminds me to keep on truckin'.
Once he took a knife and sliced his cheek because he didn't like the makeup effects — he's still got the scar to prove it. Or there was that one time he took LSD the day before his character in the film Charlie Countryman tripped on acid. He wanted to be sure he played the part correctly.
Well, now he's really GONE BIG. His character in the upcoming film The Tax Collector has a tattoo that fills his entire torso, so he permanently got it done.
"He's one of the best actors I've worked with, and he's the most committed to body and soul," writer and director David Ayer told SlashFilm. "He had a tooth pulled on Fury, and then on Tax Collector, he got his whole chest tattooed. So he kind of goes all in, and I've never known anyone that committed."
Since the word has gotten out about Shia's new tattoo, fans are celebrating his new work of art and taking to the interwebs to show their support.
Sure, a lot of people are saying that he's made a mistake and that he's gone too far, but if you look at the tattoo close enough, it appears that he's maybe included his mother and father in it. His dad was a performer when Shia was young. He was a clown, in fact, which can be seen in the incredible film Honey Boy.
I'm excited to see what the actor does next.
The Tax Collector will be released in theaters and on VOD on August 7, 2020.
