"Skinny House" Looks Surprisingly Spacious on the Inside

People on social media are confused and curious about the home.

Over the years, "tiny homes" have nestled themselves into housing communities, and continues to trend among those that are looking to live a simple life.

This one really takes the cake, though.

It's not necessarily a "tiny home" because it's as long as a traditional home, and it looks like a cartoon home that's been sandwiched between something. In Deerfield, Illinois — just outside of Chicago — it's known as the "pie house."

The unusual-looking skinny home sold on for $260,000 — down slightly from its $269,900 list price. It's called the "pie house" because of its wedge-like shape. Although, it wasn't just the strange listing images that caught the attention of onlookers, but a TikTok video is what made the home viral.

The TikTok user eli.korn_ is posted the video “SKINNY HOUSE SKINNY HOUSE SKINNY HOUSE SKINNY HOUSE SKINNY HOUSE SKINNY HOUSE.”

It got more than a million views and over 300,000 likes. The video shows a walk around the home, located at 970 Chestnut Drive, which drew comments from surprised users.

The "pie house" isn't as tiny as it appears, though.

According to the listing it advertises, “This Iconic Home Is Larger Than Appears,” with more than 1,600 square feet of living space. There's even a basement. It's skinny all around and it's only three feet wide on one end, but then gradually widens to nearly 20 feet.

“The room sizes are actually fairly normal,” said listing agent Alan Berlow.
