Lemonade Stands Are Actually Illegal in Most of the U.S.

Currently, only 16 out of the 50 states allow the unpermitted business.

When life gives you lemons, you better not be making and selling lemonade in certain parts of the United States. If your child doesn't have a permit or even a license to sell the innocent and incredibly refreshing summer beverage, they could get in trouble.

This means that it could result in a fine, which would likely be too expensive to pay with your lemonade earnings.

However, Country Time Lemonade is backing up these junior entrepreneurs — and pointing out the party pooper states — with an online campaign to legalize the sugary drink in all 50 states.

"Whether you live in a red state or blue state, every state can be a yellow state." - Country Time Lemonade

Here's the map of where lemonade stands are legalized.

But wait, there's more! For a limited time, Country Time also provided "The Littlest Bailout" to anyone who has children who have tasted sour injustice.

The company contributed up to $30,000 worth of "ade" to help families pay off these fines.

Meanwhile, if you'd like to see your state legalize lemonade stands, visit countrytimelegalade.com. They want lemonade enthusiasts to "click your state to view your representative's contact info and help Legalize Lemonade."

Country Time realizes that lobbying for a change in the system, even if it's legalizing lemonade, takes some time, but their hopeful kids will once again be able to sling cold cups of the sweet stuff all around the country.

I can't stop laughing, but I'm crying as well. No problem having a lemonade stand when I was a kid, 1969-71
