Getting What You Want

"The first secret of getting what you want is knowing what you want." -Arthur D. Hlavaty

It's easy to get caught up in focusing on the things you want to change in your life.

It's a no-brainer to recognize the things that you would like to omit from your days or to have go differently along the way.

It's usually easy to know what you don't want. But how would you answer the question, "What do you really want in life?"

And I'm not talking about that surfacey, vague list that's likely more comprised by those you've had around you than it is by your truest Self.

To manifest the life of your dreams, you must first know what you want that life to include, not just what you don't want it to include. The next step is learning to recognize what those things symbolize, which will help you manifest and welcome them into your reality (hear Alan Watts' insight on Symbols here).

Does a partner symbolize security?

Does a better job symbolize perceived value of your abilities?

Does the ability to travel more symbolize financial freedom?

The more you can determine what you want and then dig a little deeper to understand what that's telling you about what you really want, the easier it will be to recognize that there is more than one way to experience how it shows up in your life.

Heck, it may already be actively in your life and just requiring a slight shift of perspective!

Do the work.

Make the list.

Update it often.

Dig deep.

Stay open.

And don't forget that the Law of Attraction requires higher vibrations of focus, which aren't as abundant when you're habitually dwelling on the negatives in your life *wamp*.
